George Washington's Rules - #4

I am working my way through George Washington's Rules for Decency and Civil Behavior, to post them and then to translate them.

Here is the fourth of the rules:

4^th        In the Presence of Others Sing not to yourself with a humming Noise, nor Drum with your Fingers or Feet.

 
 And the translation:

4^th        When you are with other people, don't make noises to yourself, hum, drum your fingers, or make noises of tapping your feet.

  
My daughter wishes my son would follow this rule!
