In addition to studying nature, we have not been getting to our Notebooking Pages, nor have I been getting to my blogging and linking up with the Outdoor Hour Challenge. So this is my attempt to remedy that for now. I even have some blog posts that I had started and never finished that I should link up, as well as photos I took for blog entries that I never made, so I'll try to turn my focus there for a bit to get caught up.
This week we have been watching and photographing our bird feeder. Birds we have seen this week:
- Tufted Titmouse(s) (Titmice? heh, heh):
- Red Breasted Nuthatches - bottom right of feeder:
- White-breasted Nuthatches:
- Black-capped Chickadees:
- Dark-eyed Junko (colors range from grays to almost black backs):
- House finches (male with the red breast feathers; females hard to differentiate):
- Downy woodpecker:
- House Sparrows:
- Northern cardinal (the male in red):
This last one I am asking for help in identifying. I can't figure out what it is:
We are in the NE United States, to give you a frame of reference (mid-Atlantic states).
Downy woodpecker is back. So is the red-breasted nuthatch that won't let me photograph. Oh, and wren! or is it the red-breasted nuthatch... So many birds, so little time. I need to stop blogging now so I can watch them. Have a wonder-filled day!

ReplyDeleteNothing like a good catch up bird entry to get your juices flowing again. I always love seeing the variety of birds from different parts of the world. Looks like you have a bunch of birds to enjoy right from your window. Thanks for sharing your entry with the OHC.
ReplyDeleteWell done for getting such great pictures! I love sitting in our conservatory watching the birds visiting our feeder. I have tried numerous times to catch them with the lens but it is far more difficult that I thought it would be!
