I finished my homeschool with my son in 2018 so... I think it might be about eight years since I last posted an entry here. During those years:
- hubby and I "retired" (I mean... I homeschooled 27 years and worked for 10 before that, so I count that as retired)
- hubby and I have become serious pickleball players
- hubby and I have moved to a more southern state to be near my daughter's family
- my #2 kiddo and her hubby have made me a grandma many times over.
My daughter is homeschooling them! And now, for two years, I have been homeschooling the oldest one day per week most of the school year. Next year child #2 will join #1 and I, and the family photo will have another family member in it!
So grand #1 and I have been working on calendar skills (months of the year, days per month, days of the week, holidays), writing letters, numbers, learning some cursive, reading the Little House series (so far Little House in the Big Woods, Little House on the Prairie and Farmer Boy), and Justin Morgan Had a Horse. We've done animal studies, bird studies, art work, crafts, and having so much fun! Yesterday grand #2 asked to join us instead of going with his mom to Bible study! I'm still waiting to hear from his mom if he says he liked it or not...
So grand #1 is 7, and grand #2 is turning 5 in a couple of weeks. Grand #3 is going on 4, and grand #4 is soon turning 2. Grand #5 is due in August.
Grand #2 is all boy. I'm not sure how I'll integrate him into our Tuesdays. First, he's a typical almost 5-year-old boy. He did pretty well doing some school work, and then playing quietly while #1 and I worked on math, and then joined us again for some art. I know we'll figure it out.
I'm missing some of the books I said goodbye to when I decluttered to move. And I am getting a twinge remembering the ten years I was on The Old Schoolhouse Homeschool Review Crew, getting great free products to use and review. Seriously, does anyone have an Artistic Pursuits Highschool book #2? I so enjoyed the water color lessons!

Well, that's a brief glimpse into my life now. I'm going to try to reactivate this blog and make regular entries. Couldn't before. It's been two computers and a phone ago, and I had trouble locating my log in information. As you can see, I figured it out!
