Weekly Wrap-up

So I know I don't do this as often as I should, but here's this week's wrap-up.

Bible: Did some work on Who Am I, and JBoy continued his work on his Awana T&T book.

Science: JBoy tested on Chapter 4 of BJU Life Science and we worked through Chapter 5. We covered cellular respiration, aerobic and anerobic, etc. In addition, in our nature studies we studied Mullein.

Mathematics: JBoy stayed up-to-speed working his way through Horizon's 6th Grade Math Curriculum.

Language Arts: I think his work this week has been incomplete in both handwriting and Daily Grams. We have finally gotten through the first 12 words in English from the Roots Up, so there will be a TEST on the first 12 words on Tuesday thanks to CyncesPlace.
In Literature: we completed we finished reading The Incredible Journey one week ahead because we just couldn't bear to stretch it out another week. We began reading The Legend of Sleepy Hollow, and continued our readings in The Story of the Treasure Seekers, The Back of the North Wind, The Little White Horse, Rootagaba Stories, The Reb and The Redcoats, Daniel Boone and The Bronze Bow.

Social Studies:   We are following Ambleside Online's plan and this week completed Year 4, Week 34 -- we finished George Washington's World ahead of schedule so we could loan it to our friend. We read two chapters from This Country of Ours (because we had gotten behind by a chapter).

Art: Study of Caspar David Friedrich; reproduced one of his works; also applied art work in Nature Study (mullein study)

Music: Study of Bach;

Physical Education: Lots of walking and outdoor play in nice weather this week. Then JBoy got sick with a cough, and he's laying low for the week end.

Health: General daily life issues (throw away your tissues; wash your hands...)

That's a wrap! I am linked up with the HomeschoolChick.com.
